Besides Paris what is the best city In France to go to in December and January as far as wine country goes?
November 11, 2008 - Will have Five days in Paris and five days somewhere else. We want to go to Wine country. We are fans of all types of red wines. Bordeax, Provence, Burgundy? Any ideas? We are 28 years old.
- I would recommend that you go to Bordeaux as you will find plenty to do in this beautiful city, great food and wine. You can then use this as a base to visit some of the worlds top wine growing areas and Chateaux.
- I suggest Beaune in Burgundy. Great little town, excellent food, and in the middle of some stunning vineyards. Bordeaux may be the obvious choice, but it's a large city, whereas Beaune is small and intimate. You can visit wine cellars/vineyards nearby.
Suggest Limoux in the south. A local producer has been awarded recognition in La Hachette, the most prodigious wine listing in the world! Note, not the most expensive. Thre are also the red wines of the Pays De L'Aude, Fitou, Catalan, and Corbiere, plus the red Blanquette De Limoux.
