What country do you think produces the best wine?
October 19, 2008 - Actually I really think it's a toss up between 1] Italy and 2]France....just from MY taste in wine; I like them VERY dry but full bodies, tasteful--and--inexpensive does not hurt.

Italy's my first choice: they just make great everyday good, dependable dry, great-with-just-about-any-meal- wines [esp white wines...ie..Pinot Griggio]. The of course France because they've been at it for so long but I "do" think thyeyve gotten a little bit arrogant about their wines---thinking that they have little/no competition. Which as someone pointed out si not true...not only does Italy produce some great wines but also AUTSRALIA!! Unfortunately I think California falls waaaay behind--sorry to say to those of you from California:)) ... K
