can i put chillies into a country wine?
October 19, 2008 - if i put chillies into a country wine will the spicyness come though into the wine? or will it make no diffrence?
- Well, you CAN... And yes, it will. Better to do it with vodka though, where the chili won't ruin the flavor.
- Yes. Chillies can and are used to flavour many drinks. Don't go ott though. Enjoy your experiments.
- I think "Sherring" has your answer. The essence of a good wine is produced by the grape used in it's production - the addition of the chilli would influence the flavour and harm it.
- try a spiced rum or something , don't ruin a good bottle of wine.
- I like chillies in certain foods, but I can't say that I would care for them in a drink. Yuk!
- All you will do is make a hot tasting wine, which will probably taste awful, just enjoy the winemakers craft as he intended. If your intent on chillies just eat them afterwards
